I started mixing the layer feed and the medicated chick feed together into the big feeder. They are all eating each other's feed anyway at this point. Pros? Cons?

Also an article in our local paper today about another family that wants to keep chickens. They have 13 on 5acres and they are in trouble for being over the 6 bird limit plus they have two roosters.

Here is the article in the paper. I was wondering if it was anyone here on BYC.

Yes, Rich. The doctor's wife was one of our early on participants in this thread. I really feel bad for them. This is crazy stuff and I'm wondering if there is a vendetta on the part of some people.

LOL! I'm going to have my husband hang it on the fence by the coop. For a day or two at least, so the girls can see it!

That would be awful! For anyone to feel they have the right to "tattle" on someone for something, as to hurt them like that is horrible. Around here, there's not much of that going on-many of my neighbors have chickens, and many have too many. No roosters as far as I know, but heck-I don't care what anyone has, and that's how most of the people around here are-we mind our own.

What a fabulous day! (Ok, not so much where the kids and school are concerned since they tag teamed all day to finals and home) Guess what I found when I went to put the girls up for the night? Yes! An EGG!!! Apparently the big girls got right to work! SO my husband can have an egg for breakfast tomorrow! Another was sitting in the corner like she too had something to give me, so I'll go check in a bit. They are so sweet too. Oh I adore them.

The little girls also seem to be learning! Guess who put themselves to bed tonight? Everyone but Lucy(Luke). (of course) but I managed to just pick him up like a normal chicken. It was a great night!

I'm gonna go check the corner in a bit. Maybe he can have 2 eggs tomorrow! He's not home yet, but he's going to be SO surprised!
