I must be out of my mind. I just booked a hotel for our Stormville weekend. So we go to Stormville Saturday, stay overnight in Fishkill, then go to Danbury, CT for the Elephant's Trunk Flea Market on Sunday. Come home Sunday afternoon, then leave the next day for the Berkshires for 2 days. I just woke Bobby to tell him. His eyes weren't even open, but he said, "Why are we coming home only to go back up again?" Gotta love this guy.

Instead of driving back on Sunday, why don't you go straight to Lenox or Great Barrington and stay overnightt? On Monday, you could have a relaxed lunch at the Red Lion Inn, visit the Norman Rockwell museum and then go shopping for some "retail therapy".

Another thought would be to stay overnight in Fishkill on Sunday... then head up to Hyde Park on Monday morning and tour Vanderbilt Mansion or FDR's home/library. You've had so much stress with school ending...it seems like you could really use more down time doing something fun, rather than driving to/from Long Island.

Do you have lawn seats at Tanglewood or are you in The Shed?

We're gonna skip Saturday at Stormville. We've done it to death. So the new plan is to head to Danbury Conn on Sunday morning, stay over there, then head to Lee Mass on Monday morning. We're staying Monday and Tuesday night in a b&b, so we need a cheap hotel in Danbury. Probably do the Holiday Inn or some such. I love road trips!

We got shed tickets because it's James Taylor. If it were the Symphony, I wouldn't mind the lawn, although I've done that for JT too.

I like the idea of a tote bag with just the black heart/chicken with the big red comb. Says it all...

Two half days left. Good thing too. The kids are completely wigged out! Okay, we are too...

I love "Reuse, Recycle, Rooster", also random stuff like "Veni, Vidi, Chicken" (I came I saw, I ran away) on a shirt, with a chicken running away with it's wings in the air.

Today is PROM day. Kill me now. I'll be spending all day in the salon having her hair done, nails and toes done, and sweating. My youngest has "Crazy hair day" at school today, so I created an interesting look with hair wax and spray hair glue. I don't even know why the stuff is in my house, but I found it, and was glad I did! He looks like an unkempt hedgehog, his hair is really short, so it was hard to make BIG spikes. (Oh, the humanity!)

Anyhow, my chickens fell in love with a guy who works on the side for my husband-he's married to a friend of ours, and he's a great guy. He's very small and round, and jolly. So he wanted to see the chickens, so I took him into the coop. Well, May and Flower took a liking to him right away, sitting on his shoulder, and checking his ears for hair. (I think it was very considerate of them) you know how hard it is to find the hairs in your own ears!

My husband will be calling him the chicken man all day, my son is working with them, so he's relieved to not be the victim of the names for the day. He liked them so much, I wouldn't be surprised if he told his wife he wants some! Too funny. She's gonna kill me.

Well, off to put another coat of shellac on Max's head before school. Remember to stay hydrated!!!

Yes! A fabraholic too. ) Piecework is satisfying and you will enjoy it. Start with a simple patchwork design and get your feet wet. Register at Clotilde.com......joannes.......home sew etc. for free catalogs and cheeper pricing than we get here in NY. I do a lot of online shopping for my supplies.
Ebay is the BEST for good pricing deals as well.
I do not pre-wash my fabrics. You will want to read up on that before you start anything.

Here's the hair...

Save me now........99 expected here today and my poor broody hens.......they came off the nests yesterday and I became concerned cause they stayed off for a good 1/2 hoir which is not the norm for them. I am thinking it being so warm all is good and at least they got to freerange the grass while I watched out over them.

2 little eggs are due to hatch Sat. locked them down yesterday and now praying they both DO hatch.

I've dealt with only 1 chick before and it had to be carried around in my shirt so it would stop calling out for company. When others I was incubating hatched 2 days later I almost cried with relief.

I named her "Uno" but she turned out to be a he and eventually went out to live a happy rooster life far out in L.I.


It was a silkie and aruacana mix (I had a silent double tufted roo at the time) and I wish I had not lost all my pics from them in a pc crash. He was such a cool looking bird!
Hard feathered with a crest and totally black skin and beak.....eyes and feathers. Very unique. Kinda Gothic.

I wouldn't be too concerned. If the weather stays like this we could probably incubate eggs in a bowl on the porch.
