Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

It looks like a war zone just one block up the street from me There has to be 8 trees down. I have seen a lot of T-storms but I don't think I have ever seen as many strikes at once. Before the storm I figured I'd leave the garage door open to cool things off and. just push the babies back further into it. Well that was a mistake. I had to run out during it to close the door. Talking about giving birds a bath. It did cool things off though.
ouch!

She was playing WoW and Daffodil found it very intriguing.

Your daughter looks beautiful. Her boyfriend is one lucky guy. (but not too lucky I hope!!)

I went to CostCo this afternoon and someone brought their two Cockatoos with them! They were walking up and down the aisles and Charlie was saying, "Hi!" "Hello!" to everyone in a very clear voice. He let me pet him and stroke his feathers and even held my finger in his beak gently. Clearly he knew a bird nerd when he saw one.

Not sure how sanitary that is, but what the hey, everyone seemed to enjoy it regardless.

Stay dry everyone! Captain America and Princess Merida signing off!

I came home around 1:20 and found the garage door opened. I figured Bobby was still working so I went around back to check on the roasting chickens. I let everyone out and sat to watch them for awhile. A little drizzle fell so I went inside and did some stuff. Bobby was napping. Then the Tstorm hit. I looked out front to see how the catch basin was handling it since Bobby cleaned it up and saw that my daughter had left the poptop up on her car. So I went out in the storm to close it (and the driver's side window) and realized the garage was still opened and it was raining in on a box of books I just brought back from my classroom. I said something to Bobby about it, he got defensive, then I got po-ed. He went to hug me and I shrugged him off. Long story short, we had an argument over dinner about it. He said I hurt his feelings by not accepting his hug (like he's done with it, so I have to be), then told me it was my fault anyway because I was the last one to see the garage door open. So I guess by that logic, it was my fault my daughters front seat got wet because I was the last one to notice it, and Bobby should have gone out in the rain to close the coop door because he was the last one to notice it. As it was, I went out in the rain, took care of the car, the garage, the coop AND the chickens. Because even though they're both home all day, it's still my responsibility. And the final blow? He said, and I quote: "When there's nothing left to complain about, what are you going to complain about?" I must be some terrible person, huh?

Okay, end of rant.

Heather, your girls are awesome. I picked out a book from the ton of books left behind by my predecessor's daughter, but I wasn't sure if they'd like it. After seeing this picture, I know they will.

Maggie, Hippo Birdie Two Ewes! Many more and congrats on the peeps. What great timing they have!

Rosie, your daughter is beautiful. And as great as she looks in her prom dress, I like the picture with her chicken accessory even more. It shows more about who she is...

Comb comparison pics:

This is Lavinia, who I worried might be a roo. Hatch date: 5/1/12. At 7 weeks, if she were a he, wouldn't I see more of a comb? Like this:

This guy is a Light Sussex, who was dust bathing when the paparazzi grabbed him for his closeup. Hatch date: 5/26/12. That makes him 4 weeks old.

This is his sister(?), also a Light Sussex. Hatch date: 5/26/12. I'm thinking pullet on this one.

For comparison, this is a White Orpington, who I think may be a pullet. Hatch date: 5/25/12. That makes her (?) 4 weeks old also.

This is the same White Orpington, screaming to be let go. I'm thinking POW on this one. Doesn't help me to decide its gender, but it makes me laugh...

What do you think of these suzanne? I thought they should be simple so it's readable. Steve always plays schools out for summer at the end of the last day for his coworkers. Everyone gets a laugh.

Question, were the totes not what people envisioned? Should it have had a different theme, like coins or something. Maybe I got it wrong.

Heather: Your garden is impeccable and neat, you should see mine, I don't know what's what. We are having a tree guy come next week to clear away some trees and branches. the garden is not getting enough light.
Done and done. Yay!!!!
