Hi Everyone Rockland County here Glad to know there are chicken people around me!

Welcome! Great bunch of people here. A little crazy, some of us. (Ahem, you know who you are.)

Mission accomplished. Leon has been rehomed. What a relief!

Everyone else is being very quiet. I think they figured it out...

So now I have 11 chickens. Here's the question. Stand pat at 11? Go for the even dozen? If so, sell the LS hen and get 2 chicks in the spring?

I live for chickens!!

OK, I incorporated 2 juveniles pretty well yesterday and today with my flock. Having them see the big girls for at least a week while inside their protective cage.../inside the run.... made it go beautifully! Last night I placed them to bed with the ladies at lights out, and everyone woke up amicable and nearly no squabbles to speak of.
Now for the rest to follow when they geta bit bigger.

What a day out there......I am happy to be alive.

I booked a hotel in Ewing, NJ for a trip to Lambertville Flea Market next weekend. There's a craft show there also. Figured one day at the flea market and one day at the craft show. We'll check out New Hope as well. Life is good!

I still have her . She was hatched last Nov. gives me one light brown egg pretty much everyday. She does a rather intense egg song after everyone also. Today she was so covered in dirt you would not have believed it. I really need to carry around my camera more.
