Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Don't trust the tracking info for USPS. I have gotten packages delivered, checked the website, and they were still in transit.

When my cousin got her first Havanese, it was flown in from Atlanta. We drove to JFK at 11pm to pick it up (I'll skip the funny bits here). We took the puppy home and were playing with it in her living room when the airline called at 1am to tell her that her "cargo" had arrived and she could come pick it up. In Phoenix.

LOL well the info with the tracking number said to expect the tracking number information to be delayed. I totally surprised my sister in North Carolina yesterday. I shipped my niece a bunch of dress up stuff from a cute little website. They provided UPS tracking info alerts. So I called her up when it texted me that it was delivered. She was like ....its not here yet. I told her check her porch, she walks out the door and is like seriously? It was sitting there and the guy was still pulling away from her house :) lol

I was told that the USPS doesn't always update tracking on delivery confirmation packages. On my first shipment, I tracked the package all the way. On the second, it looked like my chickies were sitting in a Post Office in East Bumf**k somewhere. They never updated the website until I picked the babies up at 7am the next day. It's just the way the service operates. But they were great about it - they called me at 7am and opened up early so I could come in and get the little peepers.

I hate waiting on UPS. I start looking out the window at every truck sound I hear...it's really nerve wracking.

What can brown do for me? Come when they're supposed to.

Now the USPS is a whole other ball of problems. My mailman, Bob, is what some would call a "Yenta" or "Busy body". yeah-he knows everything about everyone...So for me to get chickens mailed to me, would be like posting an announcement in everyones mailbox and announcing it on a loud speaker. As it is, I may or may not have 6 hens only...I don't anyone to know my business.

Does anyone else have a nosy mailman?

Hello from Long Island, NY! Sorry, I know this thread isn't a recent one. I'm close to my neighbors here in the 'burbs. No chickens yet, but our coop is being delivered soon. It has nestboxes for 3 standard hens, but we may get only 1 and 2 bantams to keep her company, perhaps. Availability of finding perhaps a Golden Comet nearby won't be hard, but maybe finding an Americauna-type/Easter Egger bantam might be a challenge out here. Who knows what we'll end up with. :) Right now, I'm researching and learning lots! Thanks for such a great forum here. :)

They are here ! One DOA, I could identify a few as I was dunking beaks....now they are under the ecoglow making happy noises...pictures soon. I want the ecoglow to be clear lol
