Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Welcome, Warmheart.
Yes, Sex link is very upset. I went to catch her to make sure she was OK.
Feathers everywhere. So many she can't fly up onto her roost, I found her hovering in the corner of the coop.
Poor gal is running round nekkid.
And be careful of those "mystery extras"..... are they sure to be girls?

Hey everybody! My name is Carol, I'm in Dutchess county - Union Vale to be exact. I enjoy this place, loads of wonderful people and good information.

I've had a small flock of chickens for a couple years now. I don't have an incubator but I did have a broody Marans this year. I put two EE eggs under her and lucked out, one hatched. I had foster mom and chick separated for a couple of weeks but Mama was so unhappy I put everyone all together and thank goodness it all worked out. I think the cutest thing is when I go into the coop, Mama is on the overhead roost and baby is all tucked underneath her. Adorable.

Hope to get to know you all better!

I am in love with their antics ...such personality I've done nothing today but watch them
Totally adorable and lovely little fuzzy-butts! I can still watch my chickens for hours. It's so entertaining and relaxing.

of course when I sit out there and find they're watching me...it's a little unsettling...

Congratulations, chicken mama, and good luck with the peeps!

Hiya warmheart and welcome. carol thanks and welcome to you too. The mysteries are all female, but thanks. I won't believe they are female until I see eggs. I swear they look bigger and better today. I cant wait to take them out into the world. I'm afraid to name them all and get attached...but I've named one . I also find myself saying he rather than she to two of them. :D
