One of my chicks died. The one I hatched never seemed
to healthy. Was always hiding under mom. My broody is as
upset as I am. She keeps looking for it. I will try again in the
spring when my silkie goes broody again, and let her
hatch all the eggs. She did a better job than I did. Or maybe
I'll just buy live chicks. The money I've wasted on shipped
eggs is rediculous.

Everytime I hear from a family member I feel
Even more thankful for the minor problems Sandy
brought me. My niece was renting a house on the
water in Patchogue which is under water. My cousin
in freehold NJ lost everything My sister in law from
Island Park lost her car from flooding. My cousin from
Babylon had the first floor of her house chest deep in
water. It's all do crazy. Gas stations are running out of
gas. I want more than ever to move and start a homestead.
I'm afraid this is just the beginning of storms made even
worse do to climate change. I'm more freaked out about
the storm now than I was during it. My stomach is in knots.

Evening All, I got my electric back at about 1 o'clock. If I can do anything for anyone please ask. If they have someone in the area I can help please just let me know ( warm shower,wash clothes , watch their kids for awhile,even watch TV) just ask. I have a son that left many many tee shirts here size small, med. and hoodies etc. I also have things I could donate to help someone out.

Hi all, hope everyone is safe. We are back on here, Verizon truck just left. I almost kissed him but stopped after a hug. For those of you married to firefighters ems and servicmen I hope they are all well and thank them for their service. I pray that people didn't lose their loved ones. We have a tree down from across the street, it hit and took out two of our vehicles but thankfully missed the house. Our street and driveway are blocked and we lost power. Shingles ripped off the house and we have a leak in the living room.
Thanks heather for he emails, keeping in touch with people is what made me not go crazy.

I'm glad you and your family are safe. So sorry for the damages you sustained. We want through something similar last year and I understand how that feels.

We are lucky, thanks for your kindness. It's becoming a yearly thing, but we will be ok. If anyone needs anything [email protected]. I've got power heat water food...etc also I'm going to go up and sort through a lot of it he kids stuff that I stored to donate. If anyone knows people who need children's clothes etc let me know or shoot me an email. The Bright side is Im cleaning like mad and cooking for a lot of others.
