Spacing on roost?

I'm ready to put the roost in the new coop and was wondering how far from the back wall to put it? The coop is 4x6 and 5 high. Here are pics(these are from last week. It's actually further along now). I was planning on putting the roost toward the back of the coop right where the windows end. I would use 2x4s which would leave only 8" of space between the roost and the back wall. Any suggestions?

I put mine at 12". It's almost out far enough that the miss crapping on the wall. Almost.

Hmmm. I guess we'll have to mount it under the window then.
