I confess that my duck ran/waddled over and stuck her muddy bill in my coffee once. So.... Oops.
Not that i would give it to them, but by the time mine decided it was safe to try it it wouldn’t be carbonated anymore.
My male pekin belches all the time even without carbonation. ( He is said to be adjusting his crop. I think he is just attention seeking. Rude boy!)
And I bet you finished drinking your coffee as she is family, right?
I set my coffee down one day and lost track of it.. found it empty next to their water bucket…

My Ping -- noisy, bossy, crested Pekin with a burping issue -- is otherwise quite a gentleman. He protects the smallest of my muscovies [a female] from harassment by the male muscovies. I think he hasn't as yet realized he is male. He's just boss duck in his mind. When the male muscovies peck at him in anger, he just turns round, pecks them back, and carries on chattering and burping away.
