I have 12 Speckled Sussex. Some are still pretty small. I’ve started to wonder about the two biggest though. One has brown legs and the other has ridges across her head. A couple of the smaller ones seem to have ridges too, but none of the others have brown legs. Could either be a sign of having a male? Or is it possible they were misidentified?

Hard to say without seeing some pics. Chicks do get mixed up in bins sometimes, or do they happen to be different ages? Even very young chicks will show some comb development, but usually early wattles and bright red color are indications of a cockerel. Good luck with your new flock!
