Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

There is something sweet and kinda blockhead about her and most other bullies I have met. They are not the smartest breed , but in ways that makes them easier dogs to have as family pets. They are definitely very loving and affectionate if treated well.

Iian, I am so sorry about what you have gone through with your puppy. I to have been dealing with the loss of an animal. I had to put down one of my cats that I have had since him and his brother were 8 day's old. Little Boy aka Pong had bladder cancer. He started t urinate everywhere, and male pee stinks the worst!!! But I know he is in heaven with my mom. She loved him so. Again I am sorry it is never easy to deal with, Iian and Marty.

Triplell, I'm really sorry to hear about your cat. :( it is so hard to lose a loved family member. With everything else you have going on too, it is lousy timing. Are you holding up ok?

Bonnie is seizure free, but is very doped up on the phenobarbital. Her hind end gives out and she falls down, which scares us because we think she may be going into a seizure, but it is the side effects of her new drugs. So far she is doing well, all considering, but it may be a while before hubby and I stop having mini heart attacks when she stumbles, etc.

In Spirit news, we have our final vet appointment in 2 days to remove the last set of pins and rods. I expect he will stay inside for another couple of weeks, but then he should be home free to live outside with his buddies. :D

Thank you Iian, I am holding up okay I guess. The DH is home until the 28th when he goes in for another type of treatment for 8 weeks. All the other critters I have know that something is wrong but they just keep looking for Little Boy. I am in full goose breeding mode right now and my Calls are sitting on a nest of 8 and all are developing. The only two that have not gone broody is the Rouens and the chickens. It keeps me busy and I am getting lots fo help right now too. My brother is home, dad and then the hubby.

I am so glad that Spirit is on his home stretch with his leg. He is one special gander.. I love hearing reports.

Thats amazing. Wonderful, just wonderful.

Thanks!! On a funny side note, I heard banging and spirit making a racket, which is unusual for him, so I raced to his room to check. He and ember were dunking their heads into water bucket then zooming around room, running into each other and bouncing off walls. It has been months since I have seen spirit zoom. It was just the lighthearted silliness that I needed to see after these last few days watching over Bonnie. :D

Marty, how is baby doing? Also, I noticed your post about Julia wanting a swan. Swans are super tough to take care of. I have a friend around the corner who has had her white swan for 6 years, and it is a major pain to care properly for him. And he gets very dangerous during breeding season, protecting his Canadian goose "mate". An chance you can steer her towards peacocks instead? ;)
