Heres whats left of my Easter crew. 4 boys and 1 girl. One 1 is properly crested and hes a boy. Not been my best batch of spitzies. Very disappointed. Im hoping "mama's" babies look better.

Yep. You've certainly got a lot of boys there!

DS was so excited to see all the "Poof Poof"s at your place - and then a little sad when they didn't come up to him for snuggles. He wants to hatch some again. (Of course if you keep hatching mostly males, then you won't be getting many fertile eggs.)

I have 4 Spitzhauben youngsters. The first 3 will be 8 wks on Monday and all have awfully poofy crests.
This one has been obviously a male for over a week. Wattles, thick legs, bigger than the others:

This one I don't know, still no wattles. Legs are skinnier than her brother

This one has a very backward crest and I think a pullet. Much smaller, skinny legs....

This is Moonshine's Spitz, will be 7 weeks on Monday. It has a more proper crest and I hope it's a pullet....It is a full sibling to the above poofy crested ones. And they were poofy at her age as well. If a pullet, I'm keeping her.

I want to offer a pair to my Amish friend who bought a pair from me last year and lost the rooster to a predator. If Moonshine's is a pullet, I'll give my friend all 3 others.

Yes, the 1st one looks like a cockerel.
All the others look female. I also like the 4th one best. (Moonshine's spitz)

The backwards crest looks unique - but not for breeding.

I also have a backward crest one. It's a male. There were two in this particular batch, but someone liked the backward crest and bought it. I also agree that Moonshiners baby is a proper crested pullet.

I'm holding on to a small thread of hope that at least one or two of mama's and fan heads babies are proper crested girls. Fan head went out today with everyone else. So far so good.

So here comes an update. My four babies are 6 weeks now. I think I can feel tiny horns on the first and last one, with a bit more withe in their crest. I really hope the other two are hens. Please be hens😅
