Spouses and Animals

For a non-animal person, it sounds like your hubby has been fairly compromising. I'd love to have more animals (horse, alpaca, etc.), and we DO have the land, but animals are expensive to care for, so I'm kind of glad (at least for now

) that DH puts up a bit of resistant to my passion for animals...

My husband said NO MORE ANIMALS. I would never agree to that! I did say I would compromise and agree to no more INDOOR animals.

My hubby has simply given up... Doesnt even waste his breath.

My DH is weird. Not an animal guy but he saw me looking at rescue collies so steered my over to getting a healthy well bred collie as my older rescue really has a lot of health issues - result - I have another collie. Then he knew I was taking a backyard chicken class and just happened to mention that it might be fun to build a chicken coop - result - I ordered the chicks that night. He can't help himself! If he sees it coming, he wants to have some kind of control so probably makes it happen quicker.

My DH was my best friend for a couple of years before we stared dating... he used to rat-sit for me when I'd go home to visit my folks. When we got involved I was still dreaming of a yard full of llamas, so he's actually getting off easy with just the chickens (coming in March). And the dwarf nigerian goats we're planning for June. So far his line in the sand has been, "No goats in the house!"

He's a good egg.

You take the kids when he's not home to to get 2 ducklings and a gosling. When he gets home ask him if he wants to play a game. As soon as he asks, "what kind of game?", have the kids come out with the critters. Duck, Duck, GOOSE!!

Ahh! Its NO fun if you dont have a baby goat in a diaper, in the house, to bottle feed.
