For now here are some horrible ones from last night lol the flashlight then camera flash disturbed them but they were all snuggled up ha

Please ignore all the poop.

Thinking I’m gonna add a roost soon and get rid of that poopy thing haha

Or integrate them

Aw they’re so cute huddled together as a family. Funny you mention poop, I was reading an Amazon review for a brinsea eco brooder and one of them said, “The chicks poop on it but that’s chicks for ya”. I read that today. When I first started with chickens I had a partridge bantam Cochin and I guess I was so intrigued with how cute she was spent too much time watching her and noticed she pooped often so I think one of my first posts on BYC was something along the lines of “is it normal for a chicken to poop almost every 5 seconds”. I think the response was yes because they were solid poops and not diarrhea. I also don’t think it was constantly 5 seconds because I probably just spent that 5 minutes watching her.

Okay I’ll stop before I spend the rest of the night talking about chicken poo :gig

They’re a little unsure about their big girl roost LOL

And yes I’m going to come up with something more permanent but I just quickly cleaned the brooder and put new shavings down cause it was starting to smell a little funky (though that could be from the big girl side too. Will clean that tomorrow) and I didn’t want to put the gross poopy MHP back in and it was near bedtime so had to find something fast sooo.... makeshift big girl roost it is!! They did fine with the heat off last night. And I am waiting until they settle in a bit and figure it out before I go take a picture of them all snuggled up on it haha

They were a little disturbed by the flash and started moving around a little bit but they figured it out and were all snuggled in when I just went out to check again. :love
