Nobody knows that the SG's are Andalusian. Andalusians have white lobes and lay white eggs. A lot of chicks are being sold as SG in farm stores, or as Blue Rocks, or Blue Production, and who knows what they are exactly. I have 15 SG's from Hoover and they appear Rock to me. People are breeding their own Blue hybrids and calling them SG's too. I see them in craigslist locally, already. At this point, everyone is cashing in on the Blue Craze.
That is true with a lot of people who are breeding. They are not true breeders but what I call propagators. They breed birds and call them "Heritage". I called some people about some RIR's they were selling and asked what line the birds were from and they told me "Mohawk". I inquired about the parent stock and they knew nothing. I guess they were true breeders. There are many reputable breeders but they aren't found on Craigslist.

I believe I got 6 females and 3 males
Often times in many breeds, the females tails feathers start to grow before the males do. If there are any poultry shows near you, you can usually find good quality birds at the shows and often times the breeders will bring nice birds to sell or you can look at the birds being shown and if you see some birds you like get an exhibitors list and locate the owner/breeder and make arrangements to get some birds from them.

How old are your sg? I would love to see pics. My rural king always has a few I’m tempted to buy some and compare them to the Plymouth rocks that I have coming. Townline site says they are a barred rock roo and blue Wyandotte hens. It creates a sexlinked chick I’ve always loved blue and black chickens.
There are some BYC members who work or have worked (retired) at Townline. I bought some chicks from them many years ago and they were great.

They do NOT have grit. As far as what I read, I was under the impression adults who were free ranged needed it. I will be heading to town soon and will stop and look for some chick sized grit. Thank you so much
TSC carries chick grit. The chicks only need it if you are feeding them other things besides their chick feed. It is stored in their gizzard to grind up the food.

I have been hatching eggs out weekly lately. The first two batches hatched out and all of the viable eggs hatched but I did have quite a few that didn't even develop. I think it may have been because maybe I didn't have the male in with the females long enough. When I separated the birds into the breeding coops and pens I waited a month before I put the eggs in the incubator but apparently that wasn't long enough. Wednesday is another hatch day and each hatch is getting better.

That’s awesome! Glad the hatches are improving!!

They come in three weeks. So excited. I also have show quality eggs coming barred rocks in a June from a breeder.
Good luck with your chicks and eggs. Don't be too disappointed if your hatch isn't the greatest. Even though I put HANDLE WITH CARE on my boxes, I sometimes think they handle the boxes rougher. Some of the nicest Barred Rocks I have seen came from Good Shepherd.
