Spring Granny Square Swap

Ok I got all the ingredients today to make both breads. I can't wait! I'm so excited to try these new recipes!

I have to wait though. So much on my to do list and DH has been so patient with my procrastinating. Course some of my time has been spent helping him with his to do list which includes making sure the animals are ok for the winter and time is getting away from us! Not much left to do but I so want to beat the next storm! We've been lucky so far and only had a few inches of snow. Well that horrid wind storm was impossible to work in and the snow is actually easier to work in that downpour of rain we had for 3 weekends at the start of the season. I guess we have some legitimate reasons for being behind.

Thanks again Betty and Kim! They both sound so good, I am so tempted to forget sewing tomorrow and... no, no, no. I have to be good and stay on task right now. Anyway I must be tired cause I'm typing while I'm talking to myself. Probably not a good sign.

Good night all!

The recipe calls to make a day ahead, but I disagree if you are making it for yourself. So yummy hot & fresh right from the oven. Well, let it cool a wee bit so it won't burn your mouth.

So what are you sewing? I'm a bit over whelmed w/ all I need to do to be ready for Christmas.

I have a formal dance to go to this weekend for Steve's work and I'm tring to finish my dress and I need to make 2 bows for my basic black shoes so they will match. I'm missing the shoe gene (as my girlfriends love to say) so this way I don't have to go shopping. I really hate to shop. I mean I do it when I have to but I avoid it every chance I get!

I'm giving my back a rest right now while I catch up on BYC. I really should get back to it though...

You're like me trying to stay on track. I must do the label for my daughters quilt this evening while DH is at his lodge meeting and then it's ready to mail. I have two other packages to mail and should have done them today but guess they can wait until Friday. I'll be gone most of the day tomorrow as we're going to the big city. Yuk! I hate to shop unless it's at JoAnne's or Michaels. I'm going to Hobby Lobby on the 21st when I go to see my daughter and grandsons. There isn't one in Lancaster although the Internet says one is going up in Victorville and it's no farther to drive than Lancaster.

I got my animals and water lines winrwerized but I do need to put some pine needles in my flower beds for mulch. Wind is due tomorrow through Friday and I have a friend moving her chickens over her on Friday. She can't have them where she lives and until she sells her house can't do anything. Where she had them, they've sold the property and the new owners won't let her keep them there until she can move. I have enough space and the more chickens the merrier right? She has her own pens and coops so there's not a problem. The storm that came in here was a dud. We just got rain and the mountains got snow but there was frost on the ground this morning. It was so pretty.

As soon as this quilt is in the mail I'm going to start a few of the spring blocks and see how they look.

I am so ready to have this "Holiday" obligation done, and so want to go get the yarn, as my yarn stash is still in Alaska, and get going...think this weekend going to look for patterns as that can take time

Saw the bread recipes and going for the pumpkin! We have had excess rain here this week and cold, so now the coop and run is a mess...I put down some more shavings to soak up, but have to get out and clean out and dry out

Sunny: Hope you are getting your dress and shoes done

Good luck with the coop and run clean up!

Betty you are so sweet to let your friend keep her chickens there!!! She must be so relieved to not have to give them up!

I had to give mine up a while back and it was heart breaking! I am slowly building back up again now though.

She has given me chickens and I've bought chickens off her so I don't mind. It was her incubator I used to hatch my new babies in.

I have taken photos but haven't had time to get them in the computer. Will post when I do. I'm trying to get all my gifts in the mail and get others ready to hand out. I just mailed my daughters quilt for her birthday and her birthday is today. We spent all day in Lancaster (45 minute drive) and did shopping and also took a friend with us and dropped her off at the hospital down there so she could spend the day with her husband. We picked her up when we were finished shopping and came on home. The traffic was horrendous down there and the shops were packed and there were long lines. Now I know why I like to shop online. lol.
