Spring Granny Square Swap

Sunny-Thank you for the baby pictures. They are seriously cute.

I think I'll miss the chickens when I move. Seeing pictures might help.

Sunny thank you soooooo much for giving me my baby chick fix of the day! I want to steal that lil lavender Am from you. You know I really love Ameracana. I can why Steve is so proud of his polish. I just love their head fluff.

Oh yea the Garden Blitz was wonderful! I enjoyed most lectures esp about native plants that sustain the wild life.

It's a beautiful day again today on Smitty's Farm after being so cold for a few days. What's everyone doing today? We are having a nice relaxing morning. I think i'm going to plant some container lettuce & spinach and catch up on a few more crochet projects. I need to make beanies for my brother in-law and 3 nephews.

Anyone else have any more spring square swap pics to share????

I won't have chickens in my new place. Maybe later on, depending on how it goes. I'll tell someone here that Greta insists on being picked up, hugged and told, "I love this chicken," every day.

Alethea I had to give mine up for awhile and yes getting to see pics on BYC was wonderful therapy! lol *weird I kept trying to quote your comment but it wouldn't let me*

Haha! The lavenders were exactly what I wanted the most from this order of Ams. I am enjoying them all but the lavs are pretty special! This breeder really focuses on temperament so I was very excited to get some of her stock. They are sooo friendly!

I would love to hatch some Polish in the class hatch this time, I miss mine. Can anyone recommend a decent priced dealer for Polish eggs? I love the baby pics!

I got mine from Strombergs and they have hatching eggs for most of the varieties they sell. They specialize in rare and heritage breeds. Their prices were not bad at all. I have never gotten hatching eggs from them so I can't speak to the quality of their shipped eggs but these little Polish were so extremely friendly from day one that they would be perfect for a classroom hatch! When I would put my hand in to feed, etc, they would run up under my hand like they thought I was Momma come to snuggle them!

I hatched eggs for my students a few times. We even made a homemade bator and the kids helped turn the eggs every day. I wish I'd known about friendlier breeds back then!

I love the chick photos. I have one polish frizzle that lived from the last hatch and she's doing fine. The other eggs should hatch Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Update! Update! I have only one person that hasn't answered my PM to them. Does anyone know Cathartica? That's the last one. I say we go for 17 blocks anyway and we should have plenty since severel of us have made extra. I'm on my third set. I'm excited to see them all as I'm sure all of you are.

I'm having problems receiving my posts again including my PM. I've clicked on everything I can think of. I may have to get in touch with the powers that be and get help. I am checking everyday though so I can stay in touch.

Ok, just so I know my math is not failing me,,,, it has trust me! For myself and 3 students we will send 68 squares? We have more than that made even without the ones with white. I'll include those for the ones who said they wanted one of them if that is ok. Or they can send me their address and I could mail it out to them and you wouldn't have to worry about who did or did not want one of them.
