Spring Granny Square Swap

This could get confusing because with all the extra blocks do you not think the postage would be different one way as oppossed to the other way? Or am I just confusing myself?

here are my new blocks~these will all be uniform in color and design ~~~I made with loops and someting imecable yarn 100% acrylic but soft~~~after I get one done it is sealed in the pink rubber container and not taken out. I have 2 done. My avatar is the culprit.

I have 3 sets of old ones. They are all colors and designs. I will have to wash these and pick dog hair out and weave in the ends before they are ready. But hey we got time.

I'm ok with doing a few extra Betty! I think that is a great idea! Then the folks that are doing 2 sets can get an extra square as well. Kate sounds like you and your students have that many already. That's great! I will send a couple extra bucks to help cover any extra shipping costs for the extra squares going to Kate's kids if that will help.

I don't think anyone here was deathly allergic to dog hair. In fact I think most of us have dogs except that my 2 kiddos are too big to be in the house much so (hopefully) no GSD hair in my squares. I can't promise anything though. Their hair does seem to turn up in the oddest places!

Wow, those are beautiful! We are printing some patterns we found online to try and make some fancier ones,,, we are beginners I know, but would really like to try and have more intricate squares to send. After this week we are out for 2 weeks; I am trying to get each student at least 3 skeins of yarn to take to home for projects while we are out. I'm measuring blocks and trying to make sure they are as close to 6 x 6 as possible. I know if they are 1/4 inch off they will stretch out a little, but if they are too big it's harder to deal with. I don't expect perfection from my students but they are trying very, very hard. I'm very proud!

I think when it gets closer to deadline we'll have a little better idea of how many squares everyone will be sending to know how much return postage to include. If participants do only 1 set then they will definitely want to send more return $ than it will take to mail to Betty b/c we already know there are many people doing 2 sets plus and all of Alethea's are being donated.

I'm all for doing a few extras as well. I already had in my mind that we were going to have to do about 20 or so. I may even do 2 sets. I just didn't want to commit to 2 sets yet, b/c I'm still working on down my long list of projects for friends and family presents.

From the pics I've seen they have moved way beyond beginner work already. Some of their squares you've posted are already intricate looking. Please tell them they are doing great work!!!!

The excitement level is rising,,, I told them it was closed and now everyone was doing squares and they decided they would try and make better ones over the break,,,,, LOL between the swap and what we'll have here we could make a school sized afghan! We are going to make one for the reading sofa in the library here at school.
