Spring Granny Square Swap

AWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwww

To all my new granny square friends, I wanted to thank all of you who generously agreed to help me with my little postcard project. It was wonderful to see so many strangers jump at the chance to make a stranger happy. I can't thank you all enough. Mom passed this morning. She was my best friend, my constant confident and my partner in mischief. I will miss her terribly but I know that she is now - after a long battle against cancer - in the presence of our Lord and no longer in pain. You are a wonderful group of friends. I told Dad what I was planning and he asked if he could have the cards. I think that she would have been tickled to receive them - and humbled at the kindness of so many folks from all over the country.
God bless.

I know it's hard to lose a loved one even w/ the relief of knowing that she is free of pain & sufferings and at peace w/ the Lord. I will gladly still send a post card in honor of your mom to your dad. Thinking of you & your family at this time.

Oh Debbie I am so sorry! I know how hard this is since I just lost my Mom to cancer. I know you will miss her terribly! Just know you are in our thoughts. And yes, I would love to send the post card to your Dad. *huge hugs to you*

We can never prepare ourselves for these things. I have no doubt it was just as hard for her to leave you as you to let go and that is a testimony to a life well lived.

Debbie...
Extending my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother and praying that your faith will give you strength in this sad time.

Debbie,

You have my deepest sympathy. I pray God gives you the strength to go on. That is what your mother would want. Having lost my two oldest boys and my dad within 14 months of each other I know what you are feeling. Celebrate her life and she will be with you always. I will be happy to send a card and enclose others in the boxes so your dad will have them. God bless.....

Hi.

I'm back from my retreat and just read over two weeks worth of posts. It is nice to know you are all well and hooking. Thank you for all the pictures of projects and chicks. I'm not going to try to respond to everything, just want you to know how wonderful it is to know you all. In addition to chickens and crocheting, you appreciate the value of trees and indigenous flora. I'd considered dropping out of BYC when I move, since I won't have chickens, but have changed my mind.

Debbie- You and your family are in my heart and prayers. I'd be happy to send a card to your father. I don't know yet whether I'll be on the receiving end of the swap. I move Thursday and will see my new room and hope to be able to post Friday to let Betty know whether a blue/purple/green afghan will go. If I'm not receiving, you can send me a card in an envelope and I'll send it along.

Smitty-The hat is six-inch squares. It is large, good for someone with a big head or big hair. For some of us, smaller would work better.

KKat-Good luck with the remodel. I hope you can be in touch from time to time.

By the way, I took all my hooks and some yarn on retreat. I made a pair of bed socks for a friend in England. I didn't realize until I was there that the yarn is too coarse, so I didn't send the socks. I'll wait until I get settled and wash them with conditioner and see whether they get softer. So, since I had more yarn and wasn't ready to mail, I started on a matching shawl.

Cheers
