Spring Granny Square Swap

Great to have you back! The kids just adored your squares and we are working along on ours.

Hi.

I'm back from my retreat and just read over two weeks worth of posts. It is nice to know you are all well and hooking. Thank you for all the pictures of projects and chicks. I'm not going to try to respond to everything, just want you to know how wonderful it is to know you all. In addition to chickens and crocheting, you appreciate the value of trees and indigenous flora. I'd considered dropping out of BYC when I move, since I won't have chickens, but have changed my mind.

Debbie- You and your family are in my heart and prayers. I'd be happy to send a card to your father. I don't know yet whether I'll be on the receiving end of the swap. I move Thursday and will see my new room and hope to be able to post Friday to let Betty know whether a blue/purple/green afghan will go. If I'm not receiving, you can send me a card in an envelope and I'll send it along.

Smitty-The hat is six-inch squares. It is large, good for someone with a big head or big hair. For some of us, smaller would work better.

KKat-Good luck with the remodel. I hope you can be in touch from time to time.

By the way, I took all my hooks and some yarn on retreat. I made a pair of bed socks for a friend in England. I didn't realize until I was there that the yarn is too coarse, so I didn't send the socks. I'll wait until I get settled and wash them with conditioner and see whether they get softer. So, since I had more yarn and wasn't ready to mail, I started on a matching shawl.

Cheers

Welcome back Alethea!

Debbie (dascountry) I received your blocks. Wow!! Everyone, just wait until you see the ones I've received so far from Debbie and Alethea. We are going to have some lovely blocks. My three sets are finished also. It's quiet on this post right now so I'm assuming everyone is busy hooking. My daughter and her two boys are due in this afternoon around 5 and will stay for a couple of days. I just finished decorating Owen's birthday cake. It has the tow truck from "Cars" on it. He'll be three the 15th of this month. My other grandson will be 13 in August. We'll have fun with the chickens as Owen likes to gather eggs and he likes the blue ones for breakfast. My husband and I have 32 grandchildren between us and 20 of them are mine from my 7 children. Have to go. I'm making fried chicken for dinner tonight. It's my daughters favorite. Tomorrow I'll fix ham.

Glad you received the box. I'm back on here now. My DH has hooked the satilite up and Hughsnet thinks I'm crazy because I told them to put us on pause till June. That's an awful lot of Grandkids.....but I'm sure it makes for great get togethers and lots of kisses and hugs. Have a wonderful visit with your daughter and grandkids.

So glad to be back on the ole' internet

Writer , I thought of you the other day in the book store. There was a childrens book titled "Extra Yarn" I would have bought it but funds were low, but I will eventually.

You would like it if you saw it.

Well we get a treat on Thursday's meeting! Some of the members have been wanting to learn to knit and some ladies from the quilter's guild that sponsor both teams are coming to show them how to knit!
We have almost all squares finished and are now raising postage funds!

Your students are fortunate to have people around to help them learn important crafts like crocheting and knitting. Have fun.
