Spring Granny Square Swap

Tomorrow I am heading to the store. Which is Walmart. 45 miles from here

Hawks has only 2 gas stations, post office, bar/resturant, and church. Seventeen miles to the east is Rogers City which is big enough to have a McDonalds

but not big enough for a store that sells craft items, yarn, material, ect. If I can't find what I want at Walmart, a couple more miles and there is a Joanns. Not complaining because we chose to live here and be able to enjoy the wildlife and seclusion. Thank heavens for Hughsnet

Well the way I see it you have two choices perhaps three. 1. start your own store. 2. order on line from Joanns. (they sometimes have free shipping) or 3. Make the drive. My point being number 1. I've been to Skaneatles here where the yarn shop was in someone's house. Heck you stick a small garden shed on the place and you'll have plenty of room. But then your opening a commercial door and do you really want that?

On second thought you have two options. Make the drive or order on line.

I went to Hobby Lobby on the way home this evening and purchased some yarn to get me started. I think I have the pattern I am going to use chosen but have not completely and absolutely settled on it yet. I really love it but not sure how it will look in the colors I've chosen. I am finishing up 7 inch squares for another swap that I am currently in that is black, white and grey and due to be done by the end of March (my son loves black, white and grey and is moving out sometime in April and I think this will be a gift for him to take with him).

Thank you again for the welcome!

Can't wait to see pics Kathy! I'm kinda a pic junkie so I am always hitting BYCers up for photos.

Love to see pics of crochet projects finished or not.

I finally made my first square last night w/ shades of lavender & purple. Going to the store after the gym to get some new colors to play with, so I can start cranking them out.

I hope all you Swappers have a beautiful day!

Our mail box is 1/2 mile from the house...we live off a two track, husband has to plow out the 1/2 mile and back in the winter. So number one wouldn't work, don't think people would venture back. I order items off the internet alot...how come I never thought of yarn ...dah....I'll have to check into that. But its always nice to check out the colors in person.

And thanks everyone for the welcome to this thread! Glad to be here. Can't wait to get started on the squares.

I pretty much use the same brands so keeping track of what I like is easy enough, but I do see your point. On the other hand they do offer some great deals on line that you won't get in-store.

All the same I'm glad your here,

Rancher

It comes and goes... there will be lots of posts and then only one or two for a few days.
I'll try to take some picts of my too big squares tonight. (I had accidently made a bunch of them with an extra round and haven't taken it out yet) LOL
