phyly, these will be different colors. Anywhere from a black, to a blue splash! Big splashes. Not like a silkie. The photo of hers is so pretty, of course I'm wanting a girl like that. And then there are others with red/orange and blue in them. They are very different, and pretty. I love the little cochins.
Silkies and bantam cochins, my two favorite bantam breeds.

I have some little bantam barred rock that I just hatched. Those little things are sooo sweet and friendly right now. All I have to do is start talking baby talk and they run to the side of the brooder I'm on. I put my hand in, they rush over and jump right on it. Little scally wags.

A friend gave me 3 eggs and the hens have been laying. I am up to 8 eggs I think. I have a hen who I think is going to go broody.

Great! I hope the hen goes broody for you.

I'm setting some Bantam Cochin eggs tonight. Should hatch around the 12th...I think.

I am not sure on the age that they stop but I will find out!

Do you guys mean when they stop laying? Someone tries to tell me 3, but i had a brown leghorn that gave me 3-5 eggs a week up until she dropped dead at over 7 years old
