Quote: oh!!! see I didnt think of that! I should have a plan here because we are in the mnts. there was a forest fire half mile away when we were kids, burnt a bunch of acres but nothing like you all. I remember we had all sorta critters down behind the house in the woods and in the back clearing. Turkeys deer, and birds. I thought that was cool as a kid, I didnt realize what could have happened should they not have been able to contain it. You can still walk through those woods and the trees are growing at some spots and still have chars all over them. amazing they could survive.

oh no! on the insurance! do you have alot of acreage?

eat the turkey? what eats them? oh yer in CA I guess you have cats?

Either that or you've probably bumped into family of mine :lau Actually never made it there for the civil war reenactment.

A friend of mine from work grand parents live on 5 mile road just as you get off for High Hill Ranch. Would not want to live there on that road unless I was a vendor

Speaking of work I'm off to finish the week. Have a great day

Our plan....run like crazy if we get the chance. There has been two fires here in the 15 years we've been here one they stopped before it got started. That one was 20 acres away from me. The bomber plane with the retardant literally flew 100' above my house. The start of that one was the owner of the house putting in a fire break with a tractor. Why he didn't put out the fire with that same tractor is beyond me. The second fire was started by someone throwing out a cigarette along interstate 80 the winds were horrible that day. Several hundred acres burned with 4 house lost. It could have been ours except the winds were going just west of us. Scorched are was probably 5 acres away Our friends lost their barn but house was ok.

Yes there's a cougar here that might eat the turkey, barn cats leave them alone. Raccoons skunks coyotes Hawks etc get their share as well. There's still a flock of at least 50 turkeys here most days

5 acres

Ok now I'm really off to work. :lau
