St. run silkies

Hello, I really want to get silkies. I absolutely love the look of them and have heard great things about the breed in general. But after some researching it seems you can really only get them st. run. I only want to order around 10 at the most, but what if I get like 6 hens and 4 roos? I will not kill them btw, I could never do that. How many hens for one rooster? I really dont want to deal with roosters, but I could probably deal with one. Do i keep them separate? I obviously have never had chickens before I have ducks and the biggest asshole of a goose. I would keep them all separate.

Any advice on what to do when ordering st. run? thanks

You would be ahead of the game to buy adults from one of the members who advertise here on BYC.

Would you be ok to give them away to someone who would use them for their own purposes (breeding or eating)? I am sure you can get rid of a free rooster relatively easily if the actual dispatching is all you want to avoid.
