Ive copied your idea. Couldn't find a screw that was wide enough for the hole till I came upon a EYE screw, used a dab of silicone as well to help hold it. It's a good knob and helps make a tiny adjustment when needed. Thanx

Good luck I hope it all works out for you. If you get a computer fan and put it in there it will help alot with your hatch rates. I went from 35% hatch to 95%or 100% hatches

OK I need hatching buddies!! Im new HERE and I set 32 eggs today...20 mixed silky ones and 12 from my own flock first time ever! I just had my broody bo...set and hatch 4 out of 5 eggs from them so they are good ones! the fifth one just couldnt get out of his shell it was a dastardly hard GREEN one

I put 12 in the incubator on sunday for the new years day hatch, got 14 in lock down hatching fri.and 15 going in lockdown next tue. the girls stoped laying on the 11th but thats ok its break time for all of us.

WOW, YIPPEE, lots of people hatching, this will be GREAT.
I just got home from the Christmas Concert.
How many eggs were in the box Keyt?? I have a dozen in the bator, and I know 2 are BR's, 1 is unknown, and then 9 must be the Lemon Cuckoo Orps, (hereafter referred to as LCO's.)
Cyndy, I was sent a post from a guy who told me he only DRY incubates, after several BAD hatches, so thats what Im doing. A dry incubation, until day 18, or LOCKDOWN, then water up to 75%, and no opening for 5 days, Can't open it till the hatched chicks are DRY. Don't be tempted to take out wet chicks Mommies, and Daddies. They'll live without food for awhile.
Welcome to the first time hatching post.
I'm Bunni, I live in Munger and have had chickens since early this spring, May I guess. Some I started raising as day-olds, and others I went and bought already at point-of-lay cause I couldn't wait for eggs!! Im impatient. Don't how I'm going to live thru the next 21 days.

I added an avatar, they are LCO's!!

here's the dry incubation link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/LC-DryIncubation.html
