oh noWow, only five? They must have had a rough trip. Or the first few weren't fertile. I sure got a lot of blues from my hatch and Lukka's last hatch.
Yesterday the neighbor across the street came over to say hello. He is a retired battalion chief for a large SF bay area FD. Emily mentioned we have chickens and he said, " You don't have roosters do you?" I told him I did and he said he hoped they didn't hear them. He said his bedroom is on the back side of his house. This is zoned Residential Agricultural and I am allowed up to 100 poultry including roosters but it sure made me nervous with that reaction. We'll probably have complaints but I plan to stand my ground. We have a school behind us, a road and pasture to the right, a subdivision across the road and this guy to the left. This house has been here for 120 years so I think that trumps everyone else.
