Mike - the room looks great!

Kathy - can we replay that when you start complaining of a wandering emu?

Cooper - you'd better tell them to go hide. Don't they know it's deer hunting season?

Hey Molly, the guy with the dump truck is your brother!

Oh that is Funny.. Small world. I hope the move is going well. It will all be worth it in the end. You must be exhausted. I told you we had dump trucks. My husband and Son do dump work as a side job too. :) The dump trucks come in handy for so many things. Just went and got a load of sand for the coops.. :) I just had to push one button and the truck was unloaded...Hang in there Mary...

The goats will need a fence.

( I laugh because one of our doelings from this year keeps jumping out of their fenced area)

I'm glad to hear Mary's move is proceeding, although with a few bumps, neighbors will just have to get used to roosters.

Our new room construction is moving along, this is from yesterday, a little more was done today, but it rained this morning. Hopefully the roof will be put on tomorrow.

Looks Great...

Tyson wins and gets petted first. Fred is close behind him! Today they were sunbathing for awhile.

Oh, I just have to tell ya this story...
Mama #1 had her brood way down in the chicken ghetto village today.
I just moved the Icelandics into pen #1, since it is a bit smaller and I have only 6 now. Mama was checking things out. She started at the end, #4 (BRs) , #3 (Orps), #2 (umm, more Orps), and T H E N ..... she got to #1 and I swear she stood there and chatted with the girls for a while! Those girls in the pen started clucking up a storm! I think they were all introducing themselves to the kids or something. They were doin' that, "come here baby," kinda cluckin' - Ya know what I mean? I soooo wished I had my camera out there then!
Love the Pics.. Always love Pics. I need to get my camera out. Just put my Jubilee's in a breeding coop. Cant wait to incubate those fluffy butts next month

I am old Molly and I can't remember a thing! I forgot about the dump truck part. Your brother and his wife are doing a wonderful job! We will have a nice pasture for the emus by them end of the day. The plan, if all goes as hoped for, is to move the emus, goats, and donkeys over by the end of the weekend. Poor Diana is so forlorn. She won't leave my side when I go to the old house. I just want to pick all 350 pounds of her up and put her in the car and bring her home. The emu girls were so excited to see Michael last night that they just danced around him and he danced back. It was a hoot. The emu boys were fixated on a possum in the trap the exterminator left for skunks.

I unpacked about 20 boxes yesterday and still haven't found the cord to my camera! I got a lot of kitchen stuff put away. It is a good thing I have the service porch with lots of cabinets because the kitchen is maxed out! It is not a very big kitchen though. We got the old subzero moved and a new fridge delivered on Tuesday. Right from jump street we have to have it serviced. The water in the door takes about 2 minutes to fill a cup. We thought it might be the copper tubing but when we disconnect it from the fridge it works just fine. We also lost our internet connection for a few hours yesterday. Figures! But I still love it compared to HughesNet.

Funny story about the chickens Kathy! I would have to check with Kelly but I think that chick is a boy!

Love the room addition Mike.

Michael set the posts for the runs yesterday so he should be able to stretch fencing tomorrow. I have PVC coated poultry wire coming for the internal fences between coops as well as netting for the top. They should arrive tomorrow. The perimeter fencing will be sturdy wire. The last of the automatic pop doors should be here tomorrow too. The Cottages de Poulet should be open for business by next week! I named them that because of the little playhouse I bought for my incubator and brooder. They are all lined up in a row and it looks like a little motel with cottages or Stalag 13! I decided against that name mostly because I would not be happy until I got 8 more!

In case you forgot, here's a pic of the playhouse and two of the small coops. I have decided to paint them all yellow and white to match the playhouse. I am going to build two brooders in those areas with the spindles on the porch. It is the perfect size to work with the Brinsea Ecoglows. I may build the floors out of wire with pull out trays for cleaning. I could cover the wire with puppy pads until they are old enough.
