Yikes I got back in just before a huge downpour! I have good chore boots but I slip and slide anyway, especially in the donkey area. I fed them in their shelter so I had to trudge through the mud. Luckily the paddock fencing we added last Spring gives me something to hold onto, unless one hand is securing a flake of hay to my body and the other carry a bucket of oats. All bets are off on the way down but I can hold on on the trip back up. It is all of about 14 feet but still....

If I were to fall and break a hip I would probably lay there till dinnertime.

Michael would come looking for you when he got hungry!

Between the cute chick pics and hatching here and chick days at TSC, I'm tempted to do something stupid. ("Again, what this time" - DW)

Wow! so much going on. I love the pic. of the chicks the food looks good too.
I wish I could hatch out chicks it would take my mind off other things. I have the Kathyinmo Dels. too. If I had my hatcher I would be hatching now, even though I am still on the coast. I think I will tell my hb its a new hatcher or a trip to the mtns. WOOO.... that would not go over very well.
Seriously Mom is to have her surgery this wk and I do not know when I can get back to the hills. If I have a broody I would set eggs but otherwise no. I sure do miss having fuzzy butts in my house in Feb. It is a perfect month to set and get babies. About the time when they begin to poo stinky poo, I put them out in the chicken building in a special place built for chicks with a light. I could here too if I just had my hatcher 1588. sigh! My time will come and then I will have loads of babies again to hold and feed.
Mary hope your appt. went well.

I hope you get a surprise broody or two! That would be great fun!
Hope your mother's surgery goes well and she recovers quickly.

No sign of an interested hen out of 19 hens all kinds, all ages. My roo is definitely ready to father some chicks.
