Congrats on the new chicks Speckledhen- the mamas and chicks are so cute.

Mary your eggs on crackers look sumptuous. I am glad you all are getting some rain down there in CA finally. I feel so sorry for the farmers down there pulling up nut trees.

My dels are really pretty. I have one with the mostly streaks of black but the others have the dots. I am loving them. I wish I had my hatcher.

I could kick myself for not bringing it with me to the coast. I thought I would be back in the hills by the first of March. Moms illness was not known about at that time.
I too will be awaiting the hatchings and seeing what they will yield. Normally I do not breed anything. This will be the first I really have wanted to pursue. I am still not a breeder for sure. I will just sort of pair up the ones I like

Mike when a car pulls in and someone comes to the door he is loud barking, but no yipping as yet. I have been trying to think what terrier is the cross but cant come up with it, its small whatever it was, and this guy has pointed ears, or one and a half, so far he is doing well, but the cold we are having really gets him in a hurry even with his sweaters.

I am hoping for two broodys of the pullets, we'll see, I will be firing up the incubator in April. And trying to keep the different groups separated. Maybe by a weeks difference in incubation times. Lines 1-3. And figure out a separate brooding pen for each. Twont be easy. But worth it.

I woke up to a break in the rain and got out early to feed the animals before it starts up again. We desperately need the rain, but, all at once ?

The Suave campaign ended last night. I sure hope a winner comes from my blog! That would be awesome, especially if to is a chicken person. They could use the $1,000.00 to buy a Brinsea cabinet incubator. Or not.

Love that snow bank! Awesome. I would be out there building a huge snowman to last until May!

Jake where are the pics of this little dog we keep hearing about? You know we need pics. You can order a DNA test to find out what breeds your dog is composed of. I am ordering one for Tucker. I need to know what part of his lineage causes him to fart so much in my bed!

i know my Empordanesa run is all water logged again. its got that darn grey volcanic clay 8" in the soil. I need to get the big tiller in there this spring and break it up with some better draining soil. feel bad for them. luckily its only when we get this much rain.

my runs form swimming pools with heavy downpours, too -- but thankfully they seem to drain out again fairly quickly once it stops. blustery weather here today, windy and on-and-off rain, but i think the main storm has passed...
