There are about 20 Canada geese down on the pond now. Recall...... I hate these stupid Canada geese! I do like watching babies though. Each year they lose more babies than survive. Another girl down there has 3 right now and others are sitting.

Kathy, that's awesome. One counterpart to our pair has been MIA for quite some time. I wonder if she has babies somewhere.

She would be with her mate. They mate for life and mated pairs not only raise and protect their young together, but also look out for one another over the course of their lives. One mate will stay by the others side if injured or dying, even if the rest of the flock is moving on. They are extremely devoted to one another. They are also very social creatures.

The other day when I was walking down to the pond - I was in the are just before the water - one goose JUMPED out from behind a tree and scared another goose. Like they were playing - wings flapping, etc. Entertaining!

I gave a couple of the chicks to Toni Turkey. She is very sweet and docile. Listen to her talk.....
