I think I could have taken a better picture but my fingers were frozen solid and ready to snap off. It is so lovely here though - tomorrow we are going to run up to the lighthouse and try for a few winter shots there.

I still have a nice homegrown turkey in the freezer, as we did not plan on cooking up here (wasn't sure there would be a stove!). Anyone have any good heritage turkey cooking tips? Maybe when the food overload abates?

Happy Thanksgiving from Big Bay, Michigan

Wow, those are some big icicles! Stay warm!

I'm probably too late, but homegrown turkey cooks ridiculously fast. Like 1/2 the time of a store bought turkey, due to them not being fluid injected. So just watch it closely. They are delicious though!

While I was out at the coops Michael said the tree cutter was banging on the door and dining the bell. He didn't respond and the I wasn't here. He can tell it to the judge!

Not good that he came back Mary. Be careful!
We are just going to look out the window before opening the door. I am sure he is a little nervous seeing the huge pile of brush on our driveway. His problem.

Hauler from Craigslist is on his way to remove the limbs and branches.

Rogue tree cutter is about to begin Lesson #1 in Mary's School of Country Living Etiquette.
Now accepting new students.
