I know March is not over but really SNOW!!! My car was covered this morning. It got down to 26 here last night and tonight will be 21. I usually don't mind snow but really; with a pulled back carring wood in is a beast. I do have electric heat also but there is just sometihing about wood heat that feels so much better. Almost one week gone for the jubilees. I will candle them on Mon.

I really want these.

I agree, wood heat feels so much warmer and cozy. Hope your back feels better soon!

We were robbed of seasons this year.

I have been busy making some changes around here to make the house appeal to a wider audience. I gave away the massive old piano in the living room and turned it into a real living room. The kitchen is so far away from the family room, I suspect people had trouble envisioning themselves cooking while the fun was happening elsewhere.

So for a little over $300.00, I furnished the former "parlor" with furniture and artwork from Craigslist, thrift stores, and Michaels. The sofa was from a Craigslist ad. It looks brand new! Now all I have to do to show the new living room is to pry Michael and Tucker off this couch!

We lowered our price to attract more buyers. We have a family returning today for a second visit. They love the place but the husband is a car buff who wants a separate shop. On their first visit they were exploring options for building a shop. Maybe he thinks the price reduction will make the shop a reality. There is a perfect spot for one up the back gravel road behind the house to a spot I call "the flat."

Kelly, I found the little wooden brooder on a shelf in the garage so it is yours. The small Ecoglow fits inside with room for the chicks to move out from under it too. I have one in it now so that should work just fine. You can also use a heat bulb in it, but I have to raise the lid because it is too close to the babies after the first couple of days.

I am going to miss hatching and breeding, but I hope to find a place where I can at least have a few hens. I am truly ready for a downsize.

So far the rehoming of animals and belongings has been all good. Everything has gone to someone who truly wants it and will provide it a great home, including the piano! They guy who got that will cherish it. He hired a meticulous moving company to move it. They took the legs off and wrapped everything in tons of shrink wrap and blankets. We were so impressed, I think we are going to hire them to move us when the time comes.

The couch looks great!

Thanks for the little brooder Mary! I'm happy to pay you for it. I'm happy everything is working out well for you in this change in your life.

for the people coming to look at it today!
