no more hatching for a bit here, finishing up the expansion and growing up this last batch of babies..then will be processing some of the NYHAl birds for freezer camp soon
They are dual purpose meat--because the pullets get big enough to process at about 20 weeks old. They lay a lot of just large eggs--not jumbo and start laying eggs at about 22 weeks.
One draw back is that they eat a lot and the Roosters can be a bit aggressive. They two that are in the breeding pen are nice though. They like to roost on the roof of the coop too.
