Stella's Social Club

Is this the first time Tucker has met his extended family?? He seems to be doing well. Are his relatives Australian sheepdogs ?? It would be overwhelming for me if one of them took over my bed. I think Tucker will let it pass since they are only staying a couple of days.

When my sister's dog (female)would come here, first thing - she would pee in my dog's bed.(another female). Things would go downhill from there. She never reprimanded the dog or cleaned up after her.

I think we have always had a dog. Just one dog. And always outside. . . .
I am not an animal lover, per se. (I LIKE them, but not crazy love them). I can tolerate a dog outside, but not in my house. I think my dad made me that way. He always said all animals belong outside. Of course they always slept in a barn or some shelter. I just could not deal with dog hair all over. YUK. And, in my bed . . . . no way. My father was very picky about the kitchen and meals . . . . always very clean. He said animals in the house would cause hair in your food. That would just totally be unacceptable!

Brittney had a cat in the house for awhile, when we lived in Iowa. When we moved to Missouri, the cat stayed outside (and the garage). When we were packing to move, the amount of hair all over was unreal! NEVER a cat in the house again!

On the other hand, I have learned, "NEVER say NEVER!"
(Once upon a time, I said I would never raise my grandkids)

OK, now . . . . don't attack me!

They all had a lot of fun. The Aussies are very well behaved since two of them were shown. The blue one is a bit of a freak of nature, but sweet and gentle.

Kathy, I totally understand about animals in the house. Never thought I would join the ranks, but here I am. I try to allow OCD to rule when dealing with food. I don't like animals in my kitchen and luckily Tucker just skids through on his way to a safe zone. As for my bed, let's just say my linens get washed...a lot. The things we do for love.

The funny part was that Tim said his dogs would stay very near him and not wander. We aren't fenced and they weren't leashed. We warned him that Tucker is a wanderer.

They did stay close to him and obeyed all commands, even the deaf one who follows hand signals. Michael and Tim were engrossed in conversation out in the front yard when I looked around and saw little Tucker leading the Aussies off our property and over to the corner by the NID pond! The guys had to start whistling and hollering to get their four footed kids back home. The Aussies came back straight away while Tucker took his sweet time. I have never been so proud of him! That's my boy.

Delinquent! . Beautiful dogs. My Cattle Dog has hereditary deafness, and is now unfortunately going blind from a different hereditary disorder. Would love to strangle the breeder.

While my house is usually full of animals of all kinds. I do not love the hair all over.

That's a wonderful photo of Tucker.

Tim adjusted my oven a bit and I was finally able to bake biscuits this morning without them during on the top before cooking internally!

It still browns a little faster in the back, so I took some out a couple of minutes early, but at least it workable. I should probably just plan to rotate baked goods a couple of times while baking. I am making bean and ham soup for dinner with cornbread. I will see how that comes out.
