Stella's Social Club

Busy busy busy. Drove to Oklahoma City yesterday (2 hour drive one way), today we've got chores then bathe and photograph puppies then a wedding then the girls have a Daddy Daughter Dance to attend!

Everyone must be busy too Rinda. I have been taking pictures like a fool. Michael went back to the cemetery with me yesterday and I took a lot of pictures. While he was waiting, he took out his iPhone and did a 45 minute walking tour of the cemetery on Periscope! He had a lot of people watching it. He never talked, just walked and showed the old headstones and views.

This morning I am headed down to Sacramento to pick up a piece of furniture to refinish. It is a mid century modern piece, which I love but have no use for. I will sell it after refinishing. I want to try out some new stain products that are available before I use them on my dining room table. Would rather make the mistakes on something else first!

Yesterday was gorgeous with great clouds and views from our house all the way to Mount Diablo, 130 miles away!

I am still working on my submission for the challenge this week: landscape with lots of contrast in black and white. I may submit the headstone shot but I also like this one from yesterday.

Snow, this morning? Wow. How well does the netting stand up to it? The one time we got snow the netting was hanging very low indeed. And, it was 2 inch netting.

yes this is 2" netting. It depends on how cold the storm is. This was 2 years ago was snowing and in the 20's so even know there was 12" of snow it was dry and fluffy and fell thru.

this was 3 years ago. ended up with 13" and was much heavier, the netting sagged a bunch

My son's ski team is stuck up in the mountains. They got 4 feet of snow last night. There was 2 1/2 feet of water across the road yesterday and a car tried to drive through and got stuck. Then it froze overnight. Now, they are trying to bring someone in with dynamite to get the car out.

(only in CA) Hopefully the road gets cleared today and they can get home.

They can't even get to the grocery store without riding across the river in a loader tractor bucket. (ummmm, no) Luckily, they have plenty of food left over.

In the meantime, they are having a great time skiing. I got a phone call that they skied 10 miles yesterday. Several, including my son, were out most of the day today too.
