Man you guys have been busy! I was picking today! LOL. I picked up the "chicken crates" which turned out to be fruit drying racks! LOL, non chicken people are funny aren't they?

Anyway, I bought ten and Michael is putting them on the walls at the store right now. We are using four to hide two doors that go nowhere but to the neighbor suite and don't have door handles, just deadbolts. Michael just sent this from his cell phone. You can kind of get an idea what the bedframe chandelier looks like.

I am draping muslin swags over the ugly fluorescent fixtures.

Oh and remember the fainting couch I tried to upholster? It is being made into a display stand in front of the windows! While Michael was power washing it today an old business card from the furniture maker fell out. That frame was made in San Francisco in 1880. We found the guy listed in the old SF directory from 1880 to 1886! "Emil Heubner , maker of lounge frames, and constantly on hand at 572 Brannan Street, San Francisco."

I am so happy we are going to be able to salvage it. Almost no part of that thing was lost except the horsehair stuffing and the rotten fabric. I even salvaged the burlap straps for trim on a flower pot chair.

too funny!

Mary, I know there are no CHICK-FIL-A'S out your way yet BUT, we have a few and I just read something frightening - they have come out with a kale & brocolini (??) salad.

I know I will have nightmares thanks to that. It must be a California trend expanding ....

I suppose it will infiltrate Mickey D's, Burger King etc. OY VEY!!

If I'm going into a Chick Fil A I am not coming out with kale! It will be the spicy chicken sandwich that blows the upper portion of your cranium off!

Bedframe chandelier looks great! That's wonderful you found that business card, how interesting.

I just love the history of old pieces. It is always great when you find a maker's mark and can research and learn about the piece. The tag line for our shop is "everything old is new again" and that can certainly be said for this fainting couch.

Anybody got baby goats coming soon? Isn't kidding season about now? I saw some really cute baby goat videos on Facebook. They seem to start going boing, boing, boing as soon as they dry off.

We got this little guy on Saturday! A single buckling- again. :( That's what she gave us last year. But he's healthy and gorgeous coloring!

Sunday afternoon little Fancy aborted two little bucklings. :( They were only about halfway through gestation and she's pretty small so it's probably for the best. She's been sad though. I've been milking her to "clean her out" but will dry her up later this week.
