Well, I came home from the weekend away to a broody. My olive egger is now sitting on 12 eggs. Today, a barnevelder is acting broody, she too was on the nest last night, but I wasn't positive on her. Gave her 6 eggs, just to see how serious she is. So much for downsizing?

Broodies are crazy!

I have a broody partridge Penedesenca. She is setting on top of the roll out part of the nest box.


The one on the left, over the part with the perch because that is where the eggs roll out too....Silly chicken!

I moved her to a cage in the garage. It will be too hot today and tomorrow for her to be out in the hutch.

ron...you are getting .. hot..weather? We are back down into the 60's with a lot of rain! We were in the 80's for a while..a short while. Haven't had this much moisture in yrs.! And you have heard me say, that we were in need last yr. Hoping that all of this rain is helping us out this yr.

Yes, Today, 93, Tomorrow 96, Thursday 84 and then a shower and 73 on Saturday.

After that we go to the 80s for a week or two.

I have a Barnvelder crossed with a Cream Legbar. She went broody 4 times last year! She has already gone broody once this year.
