Sounds like they are close, likely they do not appreciate the grey skies and short days, just like the rest of us. It actually rained here yesterday, just enough to create icy trouble on the roads for the less than intelligent drivers.

I finally got an egg yesterday!

Not from my pullet that should be laying though. It's from my OE hen back to laying after her molt.

Mine are starting to pick back up. I did not have a 0 egg day all winter but did have a couple of low egg days.

Nice!! Spring really is coming.

I have been getting a consistent 1 blue egg a day, with maybe once a week a brown egg as well, out of 14 hens. Plenty for what we use, but no extras for giving away or selling. I do not use lights in the coop.

Ron - nice job squeaking by in winter. I usually do too, but I lost most of my pullets.

I know! It was very sad.

Eggs are mostly coming from the Trader Joes chicks I hatched last January.
