OK, since Deb came clean I will too. I have 31 Icelandic, 15 Cream Legbar, and 16 Isbar eggs in the incubator. I am not planning for many of them to hatch. Most of the eggs are older and filthy. They are so muddy I have them in cartons so they don't spill cooties on Kelly's eggs in the bottom tray for hatching. The Isbar eggs were in a nest box with a broken egg so they are coated with goo. I do want to keep 2-3 of the Icelandic's so I have stock from the blue roo I sent to Kathy. I also want to replace two of the Lukka-look-alikes. I plan to keep one or two blue Isbars but none of the Cream Legbars. I am overloaded on those already. I plan to list them on Craigslist and put the beatdown on MissMolly!

The Icelandic's will be referred to as barnyard mutts. I never tell locals what they are unless I know them. Too many people will be tempted to cross them.

After Kelly's eggs hatch, I will be ready to candle mine and see how many are viable.

You mean you're gonna get MORE chickens??? Weren't you gonna downsize, or was that somebody else like Mary and or Kathy?

If you dumped some chickens then I bet you could get some of Kathy's emus. Ya know like, she can't really be keeping SEVEN can she? It's not like a litter of puppies. These puppies get BIG. How would she tell them apart anyhow unless they wear colored bows or something.

Downsize, who me? I never said that!

Emus? I would LOVE to hatch one and then I'd probably be hooked, but no plans for emus. Remember, I was the one that got bit at Mary's and then watched them try to stomp Lukka! Before that, DH wanted one after that visit he changed his mind, LOL.

Wow, you got me beat on that one. In my lastest lockdown (12), there was one Icelandic egg. It was just a hodgepodge of stuff. My lazy CL & Isbars still have not started to lay, bunch of freeloaders.

Deb - that was Mary's emus . Kathy's emu's never hurt a fly - ask her. It's like pit bulls or something, it's the way you bring them up. Kathy's will be gentle as a lamb. Besides if you get them young they will bond with you before they get as big as a small dinosaur.

Ahhhh, you're saying if Mary had only regurgitated food for them when they were young, they'd have had a better relationship with her tooth?

Mary, that was your fault!

How are the eggs Mary? Anybody hatching yet?

Last words out of DH's mouth was those eggs better not hatch while you're gone. I could honestly say THOSE eggs will be just fine. I set them Thursday. I just left out that Mary has the ones that are going to hatch while I'm gone.

Back at work today and taking my brother's emergencies... seating a couple of crowns on his patients. Still hurts, but

.... so grateful to all of you and your kind words. I can feel your prayers in my behalf.

THANK YOU so much.

I am going to plug in my incubator today. I want to get it cleaned and sanitized, and all warmed up.

Emu #7 is not gonna make it, I think. He is weak and not eating well. He stumbles about and does not run and play with the others. He spends alot of time near the heat light and laying around. Have you ever had a chick (or chicken) that was lowest in the pecking order? The others ALL pick on it, right? Well, the other emus are doing that, too. They pick on #7 and walk on him when he is sitting. I hate watching this...
