Oh Kathy.

I moved my incubator to the bathroom in the basement. It is just a small bathroom with a shower stall and sink, no toilet. That was taken out because it was a code violation. The incubator temp has stayed spot on perfect in there. I have my back-up China bator in there and the baby brooder. I will keep chicks in it until they are old enough to go out to the little yellow house. I think I am making good use of what would be wasted space. The shower pan is completely cracked and lifted so it is not useable at all. I am going to remove the shower door, cap the shower head and put a shelf in there to hold the little brooder. The sink works fine so that is perfect for adding water. There is storage in the vanity as well as several shelves on the wall. I am not sure what Buddy is going to think about the chicken invasion of the kid cave but I guess I'll find out next time he visits!






Yes, all those cartons have my eggs in them! I am waiting to start turning them until Kelly's eggs hatch. Kelly's eggs are on the bottom in the hatcher and they are cheeping up a storm! Today is hatch day for 4 out of 5 eggs. Maybe there will be chicks by morning.

I have had a brutal fever since Saturday afternoon. made for a unpleasant ride home from the show. 101 to 104 . It is tolerable now and hope it stays that way.
I talked my old landlord into giving me a few extra days to get the chickens out.
I cleaned the bator out and am setting some sweedish flower hens , jersey giants , a partridge penne 3 crele pene and 2 welsummer x partridge pennie eggs
I am only going to keep the hens for the layer flock.

If he makes it till morning, I will put him down.

He is not eating or drinking, and is very dehydrated. You can feel it in his feathers as well as his weight (loss).

Mary - they weren't set until evening, so it's just now hatch day. Don't worry about them.
