I'm grateful I have a lot of room for my turkeys to do their thing and not get in too much trouble. They always notice when we leave the gate open or have company though:)

Mary, did you sell your current house? How is the market where you are now?

I'm not Mary, but she's busy packing, so I'll answer for her.

I visited with her a bit this morning though. She hasn't sold her current house yet, she will list it after moving into the new house.

The market here is terrible compared to what it was a few years ago. But it does seem that house sales are picking up a bit - not sure if it is because of investors or what. It's certainly still a buyers market though.

I agree. housing is not what it was but I sell plants to contractors and nurseries. there are a fair amount of new homes being built. the hard sell for a average homeowner though is 1 many vacant foreclosed homes , plenty of shortsales and new homes are dirt cheap and much easier to buy. Especially for fha loans. The good news though is it is hard to buy a forclosed home unless you have a ton of cash to put down so that helps her.
My buddy just bought a foreclosed home 4 beds 4 bath with a huge loft on 2 acres. Was going for 800,000 when times where good. he got it for 269,000 was a huge headache I guess though
