Stella's Social Club

Michael built a fence to enclose a little yard for Tucker. We used 8 foot preassembled sections and had to get creative with the slope of our land. Michael even moved in a little stump that he likes to use as a fire hydrant. The dog door is in the utility room and unfortunately Tucker is afraid of vinyl flooring and he won't walk in there. We may have to re-locate the dog door to where I wanted it to go. We'll see. Maybe he will want to go out badly enough to brave the vinyl floor.
That really looks great Mary... Tucker will be able to see his Mama when your playing with the rest of your wonderful animals .... I'm glad you found each other. Very Lucky!

Thanks Molly!

Kelly, number four just hatched so the only one left is the late dude and it has pipped internally.

They are spending the night in the incubator then I will move them to the brooder. One is already pooping! Glad I remembered the paper towels.

Tucker may be worried about vinyl flooring because it can be slippery or his nails make a click, click sound and upset him. You don't know what type of abuse he had before he was rescued.

If you put a narrow runner down(indoor/outdoor carpet or???) that may make the difference. If his nails click, maybe he needs them clipped. There is also a product for the dogs footpads called "Tacky paw," that they use when showing dogs, so they don't slip.

I was thinking the very same thing - a runner made from carpet.

I agree on the runner.

I showed dogs for so many years, when I was using the stuff for your fingers in an office, I always referred to it as Tacky Paw. It wouldn't be your best choice, dust sticks to it and then the surface is even more slippery. Also, it would require frequent application.

Awwwww my babies! Of the 3 that are dry, it looks like 2 pullets and a cockerel. Thanks for hatching them for me! We're off to the Monterey bay aquarium today, then on our way home this afternoon. It will be a long day.

The fence looks fantastic! It fits well back there.

I went to Home Depot yesterday to get a carpet runner and Michael nixxed the idea, saying it would get too dirty. That floor get filthy anyway because it connects the front yard to the back. And we have red clay dirt, and twigs, and dry grass, and stuff. I have to sweep and mop everyday anyway. Well, I should sweep and mop everyday.
So when I got home, he reconsidered and agreed, so now I am going back today to get one.
