Stella's Social Club

Egads I made a horrible discovery tonight. I lost one of my dark egg layer cockerels. I have no idea where he is. Kelly was here this morning and confirmed my suspicions that all but one were boys. Then tonight I saw four of them standing in the run. I had sectioned off a small area for them with deer netting. They had managed to get through the netting and then out of the run through the 2x4 fence openings and a gap where it meets the coop. I got them all back but one was still missing. Then they got out again while we were looking for the little roo. The Isbar went under the little yellow house, all the way in the back where we couldn't reach her even with a net. She is sleeping there tonight. I doubt she will make it through the night given the cold and raccoons. I had to leave her there because there was no way to get her out without moving the house. Hopefully she will make it and the little cockerel will show up as well. Sheesh it is always something!
Those young ones are so uncooperative aren't they? last fall I was always accidental locking one or two out of the coop 'cause I didn't know they were still out and about after dark. I was always surprised (and relieved) to have them meet me at the gate in the morning. Hope they are OK!

I know a few tambien, donde, si, quiero, dinero(not Robert), hasta. casa, bana, just realized I couldn't order ice cream with any of those. What good did three years of Spanish in HS do for me?

I also know how to say 'shut up,' and 'close your big mouth'. in french thanks to my mom. Lots of cuss words in various languages from my father.

There is a lot to be said for a good Multi Cultural education!

well in some parts, the cuss words could get you killed. I did learn some things in HS, my favorite subjects were English, Creative Writing, Journalism(proof reading etc.), Typing and Lunch. Used to have a near photographis memory and was a great speller - somehow the brain cells migrated south.

and Tequila.
Mmmmmmm, tequila.

I can still count in Spanish and recite the alphabet. (useful, huh?) I remember certain words and how to conjugate verbs, but I couldn't carry on a conversation by a long shot.

Oh yeah..............pretty snow Kathy! Better you have it than me.
