x2 on the pics....the one that the "other" Mary posted with the blue bonnets reminded me of home....the Texas Hill Country. I miss this time of year there. Glad you had a great trip.

Sounds like a wonderful start to a great spring. So that's what those flowers are called. We have bluebonnets here, though they are not in bloom yet. My daffodils are blooming though. My plum trees are just about done blooming and the peaches/nectarines are in full bloom.
We are supposed to get a rainstorm Wed (YES, it's just rain, not the snow that was forcasted last week). We very much need the rain - haven't had many storms this winter.
I got my roses pruned yesterday. Today I have to work on the grapes - then everything is pruned and I'm on a break until mid May when it's time to plant the garden. (other than chicken duties) It's been so lovely outside (70's), I sat out with my chickens yesterday evening and had a glass of wine.
Opened my new EcoGlow50 this morning. Geesh, I don't remember Mary's looking that huge? It is BIG. But it will work well with the 26 eggs still going in my bator.
Lovely pictures. You all have green grass and sunshine!
Prayers Mahonri. It's going to be a long week... for those of you that pray. PLEASE pray for me... with my chair side in the hospital and my front office gal pregnant and wanting to quit, I'm between a rock and a hard place.... I'm booked solid for all but one hour (tomorrow) all the way through Saturday at noon and then we have company coming to stay the week of the 24th...friends from Colorado.
How interesting. I remember seeing pictures of my parents there, they went before they were parents.![]()

Last weekend we went to see the Giant Sequoias . So magnificent however very sad as well and a reminder of Californias past.
The top picture is the tallest one standing in the park ( Calaveras big trees ) I think it was about 275 feet
The second one is holding on to life by a thread.
in the early 1900's they put a tunnel into it so people could walk through or drive a small car.
There is one branch left with foliage.
The third and saddest is the Mother of the Forest tree. This tree was the largest in any of the North two groves .
Calveras and Placer Groves.
stood 323 feet and have a 90 ft circumference . In the 1870's it had all its bark stripped to rebuild the tree in New York yes Rebuild it.
Ignorance and stupidity killed a treed that may of been close to 3000 years old.
I'm guessing spring has arrived in the south.... I went out on the porch last night and I could see fireflies zooming around the yard! Made me want to go find a mason jar![]()
Ooh! Ooh! Could you do that tonight, pleeeeaase, and take a picture of it? I have always wanted to see REAL fireflies in a jar at night! Even IF we had fireflies around here, I'm sure they would all end up inside chickens during the day as nummies - bugs are very rare on my property. Which is a good thing, but the only pretty insects I ever see are dragonflies. It's too early for them, though. :/I'm guessing spring has arrived in the south....
