Stella's Social Club

Tomorrow is Father's Day and Mike's birthday. He got home from work tonight and will be here for a week. THEN, he makes his final trip to work. To North Platte, Nebraska for his final days. THEN - he will be retired as of July 1st.

I am already working on the honey do list.
time for a road trip. California is nice this time of year. it can be hot but its not humid at least.

It's a "dry" heat.

I always love it when it's 109 and someone says that. It may be dry but it is still 109!

Oh yes, you could take a road trip to meet all your chicken peeps! That would probably take you to every one of the lower 48! You could blog about it as you go. You might have to leave Mike at home. He is probably sick of the road, or the tracks in his case.

I have a lovely, sunny guest room.

The only problem is, well just look out the window.

But you can also see:

Lukka and her baby.

Mountains in the distance.

Louis and Loca! Plus Laverne and Shirley, the white blobs napping by the fence.

Jack and Diane!

And Stuart. Couldn't see crazy Chica.

The room will be vacant at the end of the month. In a few days it will be occupied by my son and his wife who will be trying to sleep through the crowing.

Hey, I am going to make a blog post out of this guestroom stuff! Thanks for the inspiration Jason.

I set some Silver Ameraucana eggs Friday in the new R-com
OOh, I'll have to look for pics of silver AM's.

Jason, you might think about laying that incubator flat rather than on its side, unless that is you version of turning.

Lord have mercy I just realized I have 36 eggs in the incubator. How did that happen? I had a dozen Icelandics so I thought, what the heck, throw in some Isbars too. I put 19 Isbars in on Friday and added 5 more yesterday. When I checked in on them last night, I realized I had three full cartons of eggs in there! That is 36. It's the same disease that hit Deb and Molly. OMG I have it too!

I have a new friend, who recently moved here from Illinois. She loves the weather here. We were out one day when it was 110. She was saying how strange and different it was - the dry heat. She said that an 80 degree day in IL feels worse than when it's 100 here.

The only problem is, well just look out the window.

Beautiful! I wish we had trees like that where I live.
