Hey, it's a big deal that my hubby is even eating any vegetables besides canned green beans and potatoes now. He eats stir fry sometimes with actual squash in it. As a kid, he wouldn't touch squash, period. His mother really didn't know how to cook it. They boiled everything into oblivion so you can see why his tastes were limited. Now, we eat lots of stuff and his palate has improved/changed. He'd never even eaten whole wheat bread and now, we always eat whole wheat/whole grain bread. I tell him I was a good influence on him. My mom put sugar in
everything, including all vegetables, ick. I recall her having a slice of tomato with a teaspoon of sugar on top.

He eats much healthier than he ever did as a child. I guess I do, too.
One thing neither of us will touch is avocado. We think of it as green slime. I tried one once. Oily and gross was my assessment. I will occasionally taste guacamole, but don't even get that near Tommy.
