Stella's Social Club

Of the 8 eggs that broody mama is on - I have 6 chicks, 1 dead (she killed- pecked to death), and 1 egg still there. I will check that egg tonight and see if it is viable. They are in the 4X4 storage room in the layers coop. That little room has sure come in handy a few times! It is suppose to be a rainy week here, starting tomorrow. After that, I will let them out. I love watching broody mamas with their babies. I will get pictures some time soon.

Pathology reports today - all is well! Everything negative!

Kathy, Great News! I am going to the Thyroid Doctor next week for a check up, every 2-6 months.

I like the Apple Peeler! I will have to try it out. Cute chicks!

All Good News, Thing are Looking Up!!!

Thank you! Good luck at your appointment!

Before I retired I was working on a "Senior Unit." (over 50). I was telling my co-workers how surprised I was that about 80% of my patients were on thyroid meds or had thyroid issues! What is going on with this? It has to be our water or our food, in my opinion.

Personally, I believe it is all the GMOs we have ingested - we have no idea what we have consumed!

There have been articles about Plastic Exposure over the years hurting the thyroid gland.

Microwave popcorn
Canned food especially canned tomatoes or other acidic foods.
cash register receipts
plastic utensils
water bottles......The list goes on and on.

I one study, blood levels were measured before and after handling cash register receipts. The level in the blood went up.

Great news! What a relief!

Great Job! You can drop roosters off at your feed store?
Yes, the feedstore in Auburn takes them and people buy them. Hens/pullets too. They can't have bugs though, too many people were bringing in birds with nasty leg mites.

Kathy, did you ever upgrade your camera? Your eggs in the broody pic look like plastic! Nice.

I am thinking about upgrading my big DSLR I use for food photos but not sure I want to spend the money. I am sick of my old one though and all of its foibles. I have been having a heck of a hard time getting good pics because of all the error messages and malfunctions. Finally the camera worked tonight and I was trying to photograph mac and cheese. I needed bacon for garnish and the mac and cheese got gelatinous because the bacon just wouldn't cook in the microwave. Ha! The microwave went out! It was only 18 months old and a really expensive microwave convection unit too! I replaced it on Amazon with a straight microwave. It will be here Wednesday. Its always something! Yuck!

Beautiful picture. I like yours better than mine. See below.

No, I did not. However!..... just today my grandson was using it (*rolling eyes here*) and the lid over the battery came off and I can not get it back on. I think I will now go to Amazon and place my order.....

Hey, I found this. Is it posted on BYC anywhere? Kelly?
First I've seen of it, but that doesn't mean much. I've been pretty busy with the Easter Hatch.

Good morning. Woke up to my April Fool's joke. SNOW! I grabbed my camera and took lots of video. Then got my second April Fool's joke when I tried to download the video and found my memory card lying on my desk instead of in my camera!

Kathy that chick picture is just the cutest! I love broodies. I think my sweet Lukka has retired. This is the longest she has gone without being broody since Sigrid sent her to me. She deserves the rest, sweet little mama of soooo many chicks.
