Stella's Social Club

He is going on six now. I haven't seem him mate or do mating behaviors since his molt. Fertility has not been an issue until now. He deserves a rest!

specimen manzanita tree.....
sorry but thats not a manzanita. if you can get a close up i may be able to tell you what it is. looks like possibly a palo verde or mesquite but i can not see the trunk well or foliage close enough
pretty though

At five this morning a very large storm front passed by. It is likely heading up your way so watch out!
we got a good soaking thats for sure. very warm storm though

Rainy Saturday morning here. Heading downstairs for one of these muffins and a cup of coffee.

I'd take a picture of the lemon pound cakes I made yesterday, but the picture wouldn't be as pretty as yours. Plus, I already ate some of it! The rest are going in the freezer.

The muffins were really lemony last night but much less this morning. Next time I am going to add more lemon.

I know it tastes good because you brought me a slice when we went to the poultry show. I think I made it too. I cook so much I forget what I have made.

Reworking my blog reminded me of some of the things we liked the best, but the horrible pictures are shocking! Michael wants me to delete the earlier posts with ugly pictures but I say no way. I still stand by the food! Everyone started somewhere.

Speaking of food and blogging, after only four months, I am returning to eating meat. Our diet will still include lots of fish, but we are also adding back grass fed beef (occasionally) and pastured chicken and pork. I decided to return to basics and I am taking the other blog down before I even publicly promoted it. There is an ugly contingent of people who think they have a right to determine what other people eat, and I don't want to be a part of that. I am too thin skinned to fight off a mob of angry vegans. The pescetarian FB sites just changed to "closed" because of the attacks. Plus, I don't think my followers liked the change. Visits dropped to less than half down from 50,00 to 24,000 last month.

So I started investigating local sources for meats and produce, joined a winter vegetable CSA and the local food co-op which Kelly never even bother to tell me about!

I switched themes on my blog to one that is truly mobile responsive. The other one was hard to read on IOS devices. The ads were pushed to the bottom and didn't meet the requirements of BlogHer Publishing. I don't make much money but I didn't want to kicked out. Michael designed a logo for us and I chose a new Lyndon Johnson inspired by-line.
