Awww Kathy, that would be sooooo sweet!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Kathy that's great. If you hatch eggs for them - do you get to keep pick of the litter?

Mary - when the neighbor sees the emus just tell him - "They don't crow." Ta ta for now!

She doesn't want any more. She just "eats," the eggs!

My Fred is so - so - soooooooo docile and sweet. Honestly, I wish you could be here to see him. I whistle (it's a special, "come to mama," whistle) and he comes runnin'! Tyson races him to get to me first. No need for a fence!

The goats will need a fence.

( I laugh because one of our doelings from this year keeps jumping out of their fenced area)

I'm glad to hear Mary's move is proceeding, although with a few bumps, neighbors will just have to get used to roosters.

Our new room construction is moving along, this is from yesterday, a little more was done today, but it rained this morning. Hopefully the roof will be put on tomorrow.

Kathy who wins the race Tyson or Fred? Fred has always struck me as an easy going, very laid back Emu that I bet would never stomp or 'taste" anyone.- people or chickens.

Tyson wins and gets petted first. Fred is close behind him! Today they were sunbathing for awhile.

Best broody mamas!

Oh, I just have to tell ya this story...
Mama #1 had her brood way down in the chicken ghetto village today.
I just moved the Icelandics into pen #1, since it is a bit smaller and I have only 6 now. Mama was checking things out. She started at the end, #4 (BRs) , #3 (Orps), #2 (umm, more Orps), and T H E N ..... she got to #1 and I swear she stood there and chatted with the girls for a while! Those girls in the pen started clucking up a storm! I think they were all introducing themselves to the kids or something. They were doin' that, "come here baby," kinda cluckin' - Ya know what I mean? I soooo wished I had my camera out there then!

Kathy I shouldn't be surprised, Tyson has twice as many legs as Fred, and his snow white front paws have to count for something too.. Love your broodies and chicks.

By the way I was always thinking that Tyson was named for the fighter. But, duh, it just dawned me that maybe he is named for Tyson(brand) chicken. Or you have a grandson or ??? named Tyson.

When Tyson was born (an only pup) he looked like a boxer - thus, the name! He was a BIG pup for his little bitty mama. See in this picture - he was still nursing.
Photo is Tyler and Sarah (an old girlfriend of his that I still love). They named the puppy.
