I got my first organic grocery order in tonight. Yummy. Surprisingly, the prices were not bad at all. Bulk is great, too. They get in the big bags and "split," them into whatever is ordered. I ordered 25 pounds of organic sugar ($35.), 5# rolled oats ($3.44), 5# long brown rice ($.79 per pound), and 2 # popcorn ($2.). Fresh produce was a lovely sight. I got grapefruits, yams, kale, russet potatoes, lettuce, carrots, bananas, apples. Some of the "cases," were as small as 6 cans. nice... I like knowing I am not eating a bunch of pesticide chemicals.

Anyway, I bought a case of (12) ACV drinks. Oh, my gosh - these are GREAT! I love them. They were on sale, too. 16 ounce drinks for $1.29 each. I'm gonna get more of these. Much healthier than that nasty Coke Zero I drink every day. Gonna try to change my habits.

I get organic ACV at the regular grocery store, the Spectrum brand, and on the rare occasion I have a terrible cold, I make a hot tea with the ACV (2 tablespoons in a cup of boiling water) and raw honey, recommended to me by gumpsgirl years ago.


We are euthanizing Kes today. I may not be back here for a bit. This is just too hard, even if it is the right thing to do for her.

After 12 years of living here, we are finally finishing the top of our driveway. The area at the top has been just road base. The pavers are here today to finish it.

I looked out my window and saw this, so I had to snap a picture.

All animals were moved successfully today! Jack and Diana were the most difficult. They were both so stressed in the trailer that they were spewing from both ends and sweating like pigs by the time they got here (7 miles)! They are settled in and exploring their big pasture. Our lot is the opposite of the last one which was deep and more narrow. This one is wide and more shallow. If they go to the far end of the property by the road to the school we can't see them. I am used to knowing where they are at all times.

Today is our first night in the house with a football game going on at the school. The PA system is loud outside but we can't hear a thing inside. I was settling some baby chicks into a brooder in the garage and I had the door open. They introduced all the coaches and players and everyone cheered. Then they played the National Anthem and I stopped what I was doing until it was over. Odd feeling. I love living here with roads for 3 adjoining properties and the school for the other. No nasty dried up old witch on the phone with her lawyer! No nasty old half dead coot with 3 loose Jack Russell terriers.

No cord for my camera yet. Emily marked the boxes and with her learning disabilities it has been a challenge to decipher them. For instance BuffA=Buffet, Bacon=cookie sheets and muffin tins, and my favorite, lawndreeroom. Gotta love that girl!
